You can travel to Wells either by car or by train.

While the nearest train station is Castle Cary, there are also options to take a train to Bath or Bristol. 

If you plan to travel via Castle Cary:

• There are direct trains from London Paddington to Castle Cary, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

• We suggest getting a taxi from the Castle Cary train station to Wells. Please refer to the Accommodation page for local taxi numbers.

If you plan to travel via Bath:

• There are direct trains from London Paddington to Bath Spa, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

• There are multiple buses which leave from Bath bus station for Wells, such as bus numbers 173 and 174.

• The buses will take you to central Wells.

If you plan to travel via Bristol:

• There are direct trains from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

• Bus numbers 376 (Mendip Explorer) leave from Bristol Temple Meads train station for Wells.

• The bus will take you to central Wells.
