What to see & do

Sam and his family call Somerset and Shepton Mallet home, and it’s also where the famous Glastonbury Festival takes place! Surrounded by the beauty of the English countryside, there’s plenty to see and do – the perfect place to explore while you're here for our celebration!

Here’s a few ideas:

  • Walk up Glastonbury Tor for scenic views of the Somerset Levels, Mendip hills and the Severn estuary.

  • Visit Wells Cathedral which has been inspiring pilgrims for nearly 850 years, built in the Gothic style and hosts one of the oldest medieval clock faces in the world.

    • Also situated in Wells and adjoining the Cathedral is Vicars’ Close, believed to be the only complete medieval street left in England.

  • Meander through Cheddar Gorge, one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks, but also a site of special scientific interest and part of the newly formed Mendip Hills National Landscape.

  • Relax at Deer Leap viewpoint for some spectacular views of Glastonbury, the Tor and Exmoor National Park.

  • Spend a day wandering the Georgian streets of Bath, visiting the Roman baths, Bath Abbey (gorgeous views from the rooftop), Pulteney Bridge, and the Royal Crescent. Treat youreself to afternoon tea at the Pump Room, relax at the Thermae Bath Spa or enjoy a picnic in Victoria Park.
